We are delighted to announce that, after three years of fundraising by the Raise The Roof committee, a contractor has been appointed and the deposit paid to build a new covered stand at the Railway End of Nethermoor with the plan for works to commence in June.
The stand is 40 meters long and five meters in height. The height is the same as the main seated stand and cantilever in design to minimise viewing obstruction. It has been specially designed to allow the option of steps to be added at a later date to increase capacity and viewing options.
The fundraising, council grant and the projected fundraising from burgers and beer sales at the remaining home games, the sponsored walk on the last day of the season to FC United of Manchester and the Golf Day on 7th August has secured enough money to go ahead with the build. So please continue to support by buying a burger or beer, sponsor our walk, or if you’re a golfer we still have spaces for teams.
The committee have been working hard to secure the stand and have been liaising with the council, main contractor, football club and other parties to start the successful and smooth project once the season ends.
After the huge success of Yorkshire Burgers and Beer in recent games the opportunity to secure a permanent food outlet in the same area of the ground are being explored.
We’d like to thank you for supporting the fundraising efforts of Raise The Roof over the past three seasons.
We are now looking for a sponsor for the new Railway End stand, anyone interested in sponsorship or for more information please email press@guiseleyafc.co.uk
