We can confirm Barnsley will now be bringing a stronger side than initially expected with several first teamers expected in their squad for the clash on 11th July at Nethermoor.

The fixture, our opening friendly, will kick-off at 7:45pm and tickets will be available to purchase on the night by cash or card.

Tickets, for all of our home pre-season friendlies, are priced at £10 adults, £5 concessions, £5 under 18s and £1 under 11s with 23/24 GAFC season ticket holders getting half price entry on production of their season ticket at turnstiles 3 and 4.

The Lions have close links with Barnsley having taken several players on loan from their youth set up last season including Joe Ackroyd, Keegan Hartley, Harrison Nejman and Kareem Hassan-Smith. Barnsley also made the trip to Nethermoor last season for a friendly and ran out 2-1 winners.

Our clash with Curzon Ashton on 15th July has now been cancelled with the Lions making a change to their pre-season schedule, there will be no game that weekend for Paul Phillips’ men. They do not have to wait long to return to action though with a trip to Thackley following on Tuesday 18th July.
