Nigerian midfielder Prince Ekpolo joined The Lions on 8th January 2020 from Glossop North End before returning for a second spell with the club on 26th May 2023 from AFC Telford United.

Prince made 27 appearances for the Bet Victor South East Division side in the 19/20 campaign having previously played for Burscough.

On 29th June 2020 it was confirmed Prince had signed a new contract with the club for the 20/21 campaign after impressing towards the end of the 19/20 season in his eight appearances.

After the signing Russ O’Neill said: “Prince took our physicality in the midfield area to a new level in the games he got in for us before Covid-19 ended the season. He was a Non-Contract player last season so it was our priority to secure him on a contract. I am now looking forward to seeing him move up to an even better level.”

“Before bringing him to Guiseley I really thought that he had real potential and before lockdown came he had proved that he has got what it takes to play at our level in the Vanarama National League North. I think we will see the best of him in the 20/21 season.”

Prince extended his stay with the club for the 2021/22 season on 12th April 2021, the midfielder made nine appearances in the cut short campaign but Russ O’Neill and Marcus Bignot moved quickly to secure his services again.

On 24th May 2022 it was confirmed that Prince had left the club to sign for AFC Telford United to end his three season stay at Nethermoor. The midfielder made 63 Lions appearances.

After a season away Prince returned to Nethermoor and said “I have had a lot of messages from Guiseley fans asking me to come back and I really appreciate that. They are a big part in why I wanted to return. In all my years in football to be honest there is no place to be like Guiseley AFC. There is just love and joy for the players from the fans and volunteers there. They treated me so well so there was no way I would have said no to going back there. There is something special at Guiseley and I am so happy to be going back.”

The former Burscough player started life in Nigeria but moved to Spain where he started playing football at the age of nine. He had aspirations to be a goalkeeper and was dreaming of playing in that position when he was a young child in Africa. He came to England in 2016

The midfielder, who works at Preston Royal Infirmary and away from football Expolo loves playing table tennis with his father and brother.

On 10th May 2024 it was announced that Ekpolo had signed a new contract with the club for the 2024/25 season, Prince made 35 appearances and struck his first five Lions goals in the 2023/24 campaign.

On 3rd June 2025 it was confirmed that Prince Ekpolo had chosen to sign for Bradford (Park Avenue). The midfielder made 48 appearances in the 2024/25 campaign.
