Lewis joined the club for an undisclosed fee from Alfreton Town on 5th November 2022, he made his debut that afternoon off the bench against Warrington Town and scored in a 3-1 loss.
The winger joined Alfreton at the start of the 2021/22 campaign after being one of the stars in Liversedge’s title winning side.
The explosive attacker joined Billy Heath’s side after a brief spell at Liversedge, where he played with current Guiseley players Ross Daly and Spencer Harris.
Whitham’s early development was led by manager Chris Hilton at Stocksbridge Park Steels, a club he joined as a youngster and made it to the first team by the age of 17.
Whitham explained: “I was doing well as a striker as a youngster but when I reached the first team at Stocksbridge the strikers in that league were a lot bigger than me. My pace and ability to go direct are my strengths and I hope to show that at Guiseley.”
The Barnsley-born player works as a football coach for DSC Elite Football Academy in Barnsley.
On 29th April 2023 it was revealed that Lewis had signed a new contract with the club for the 2023/24 campaign. The winger was likely to miss the majority of the season through injury after suffering a torn ACL, MCL and meniscus in his left knee following an innocuous challenge at Marine in March.
The costs of the operation were covered by the Guiseley AFC fans and the winger said “I cannot thank everyone who has contributed to this fund enough. I love this club to bits, I have enjoyed every single minute I have been here and I love being around it and the people involved in it.”
On 9th May 2024 it was announced that Lewis had signed a new contract with the club after sitting the entire 2023/24 campaign out through injury. Of his new deal the winger said “I cannot wait to get back playing to be able to reward them all. The club have been so patient with me. It was a lot longer process than I thought, maybe 15 months in all.”
On 29th May 2025 it was confirmed that Lewis had rejected an improved contract offer to sign for Worksop Town. Over his three seasons with the club Whitham made 45 appearances scoring eight goals.
