Leo joined the club on 17th August 2024 and made his debut later that afternoon at Macclesfield.
The forward struck a quickfire treble at Nethermoor in July in a pre-season friendly with the Barnsley and has signed a loan deal with until 1st January.
Leo has worked his way through the ranks at Barnsley and was an unused substitute in their Carabao Cup tie at Wigan earlier this season.
Following an exciting pre-season Farrell has been working with Barnsley’s first team after missing most of last season through injury, he marked his comeback in sensational fashion in LS20.
The tall forward was a part of the Reds’ U18 Professional Development League title winning season in 2023.
Leo scored a brace on his first start for the club in a 3-2 win against FC United of Manchester, his performance also earned him the Man of the Match award.
On 2nd January 2025 Leo returned to parent club Barnsley after picking up an injury in the New Year’s Day victory over Bamber Bridge.
Leo made 15 appearances striking seven goals along the way in his two loan spells.
On 10th October 2025 Leo returned to the club on a three month loan deal from Barnsley.
Farrell started the day after his signature and struck a goal to mark a third return to Nethermoor.
Leo was recalled by Barnsley on 6th December after making four appearances and scoring three goals.
He came off the bench in the Reds’ Emirates FA Cup win at Peterborough that afternoon.
