Jay joined the club on 8th August 2025 after a successful trial spell, the central midfielder made his debut off the bench a day later in our season opener at Bamber Bridge.

Bradford-born Buchan signed for Guiseley after being released by Sheffield Wednesday where he played in the Under-21s.

He started playing football for Bingley Juniors before becoming a scholar in the Leeds United Academy.

At the age of 18 he joined Sheffield Wednesday, signing a two year professional contract.

Describing himself as a box-to-box midfielder Buchan said that fellow Guiseley player Sam Bentley recommended the club to him.

On 28th October 2025 Jay left the club and signed for Silsden after expressing a desire for more playing time. Buchan made 14 appearances for the club.
