Jake Wright joined the Lions on 21st May 2024 after a one season stay at Buxton.

The forward has plenty of National League and National League North experience and has made his mark in the past with Boston United, York City, Harrogate Town and Gateshead after having been a scholar in the Sheffield United Academy and becoming a pro for three years. He played one first team game for The Blades.

Away from football Wright is an office manager for a gas company. Although his full focus is on football these days he was good enough in his youth as a cricketer to have trials with Derbyshire.

The player admits that his favourite ground is Leeds United’s Elland Road where he once played for Sheffield United Under-21s.

Sadly Wright missed the entire 2024/25 campaign after suffering a ruptured ACL and meniscus tear in a pre-season friendly at Avro.

Following the conclusion of the season it was confirmed that Wright had left the club but was invited back to pre-season training.
