The young midfielder made his senior debut a day later at home to Hednesford Town coming off the bench as a second half substitute.

Boyle had impressed the managerial team after a solid season with Guiseley Academy’s U19 academy sides.

Derren also struck six goals in three games for the Young Lions during their FA Youth Cup campaign.

On 7th August 2026 Derren signed for the 2026/27 campaign after impressing in pre-season where he featured in every game making two starts.

Liam Ridehalgh handed the academy midfielder his senior debut in the 2025/26 campaign, he went on to appear five more times across the season whilst continuing to learn his trade with the Young Lions.
