Declan comes from Bradford and played for home town club Bradford City as a youngster.
His favourite player is Allison and his favourite team is Liverpool.
He also wants to become a professional player.
On 28th March 2019 Lambton signed first team forms and immediately secured a dual registration agreement with Campion where he had been playing all season.
After spending the 19/20 campaign getting first team experience with Campion Declan signed a new Lions deal for the 20/21 season on 28th June 2020.
On the new deal Russ O’Neill said “Declan trained with the first team squad all last season whilst playing his senior football out on loan with Campion. He continued to improve so has been rewarded with another year’s contract. Hopefully he will kick on and show further improvement.”
Declan joined Albion Sports on loan 4th September 2020 to boost his experience of senior football.
On Saturday 5th December 2020 it was announced Declan’s loan at Albion Sports had been cut short due to play in the NECL being suspended, he was named on the bench that afternoon in a 3-1 home defeat to Brackley Town.
On 28th June 2021 the academy graduate goalkeeper signed a new contract with the club for the 2021/22 campaign.
On signing his new deal Dec said ” I hope now that I can push on and claim the first team spot at Guiseley. I have worked hard and the management have said it is down to me now to impress in the pre-season games.”
“I am aiming to do just that and have just signed a new one year deal with the club. It is a great place to be and the senior players and management are really encouraging of young players. I had a lot of help and good advice from the Academy management team of Dave Currie and Danny Ellis along with goalkeeper coach Luke. Now is the time for me to step up and impress when the chance comes.”
“Now it is time to play men’s football and Russ and Marcus have introduced a number of Academy players into the first team squad so I am hopeful of making my mark. My target for the season is to cement a first team place as No 1 and play as much football as possible and help Guiseley to achieve something.”
On 24th September 2021 it was announced that Dec had signed a loan deal with Brighouse Town until 20th October 2021.
After returning from his loan Dec made his full senior Lions debut at Darlington on 30th October 2021.
On 26th November 2021 it was announced that the academy graduate goalkeeper had signed a loan deal with Pontefract Collieries until 23rd December 2021.
Dec then made his first senior appearance at Nethermoor in a defeat to Southport on 7th December 2021.
On 15th June 2022 it was announced that Dec had been released by the club at the end of his contract.
