Guiseley’s caretaker manager Mark Bower will welcome Hednesford Town to Nethermoor on Saturday, looking to pick up his first win in charge.
The Lions’ 2-0 defeat at the hands of local rivals Bradford Park Avenue has seen Bower’s charges fall to 15th place in the Skrill North.
However, after Guiseley’s encouraging second-half performance, Bower is still confident his side are capable of taking three points on Saturday.
Speaking after the game on Tuesday night, Bower said: “Through adversity, we put in a fantastic performance. On Saturday, I’ll ask the lads to go out and do the same thing.”
Pace-setters Hednesford go to Nethermoor on Saturday having dropped just four points all season.
The sides have not met since March 2009, when Hednesford were 2-1 victors
The visitors are unbeaten in two, after losing their only game of the season to North Ferriby United 3-0, and sit a point clear of Altrincham at the summit. The Pitmen also have the league’s top goalscorer, Elliot Durrell, in their ranks.
Bower is likely to be without Danny Ellis and Matt Clarke, with the latter being forced to withdraw just before Tuesday’s night kick-off, although Paul Ennis could make his Guiseley debut.
