Following Wednesday’s 2-0 victory against Hyde, Guiseley are back in action at Nethermoor on Saturday as they welcome Brackley Town in the Vanarama Conference North.
The Lions had a number of players missing due to injury in midweek but Mark Bower’s makeshift side had enough to see off Hyde, although the boss was concerned by the knock that Wayne Brooksby took ahead of Saturday’s clash.
With Brooksby a doubt along with Oli Johnson and Danny Hall, Bower will almost definitely be without Gavin Rothery and Ben Parker as well as suspended duo Liam Dickinson and Danny Boshell.
“It was a bit of a kick for Wayne, nothing more than that,” Bower said on Wednesday.
“Hopefully we can get that settled down because obviously at the minute we have the likes of Gavin Rothery and Oli Johnson not available.
“Wayne is a massive player for us so hopefully he’ll be ok. I’m not sure if Danny Hall is going to be right for us at the weekend, but Oli Johnson may be able to take a place on the bench and play twenty minuets or so.”
Guiseley’s top goalscorer Adam Boyes added to his tally for the season with a brace on Wednesday and, as the Lions target their first back-to-back wins of 2015, Bower is keen for his side to be patient against Brackley.
“It was the difference between taking your chances and not taking your chances. Boyesy’s two finishes were excellent and they were the difference,” he added.
“Brackley are a team at the lower end of the table. They’ll come here and try and make it difficult and will want to frustrate us and try and catch us on the break. We have to make sure we’re patient.”
