On The Road: King’s Lynn Town Preview

Lions fan Joe Priestley previews Saturday’s trip to King’s Lynn as we look to extend our unbeaten away run to 11 games in all competitions.

There’s never a good time to play the best footballing side in the league, however The Lions travel to The Walks less than a week after it witnessed the scalp of the season. Basement boys Bradford (Park Avenue) took three points home to West Yorkshire on Tuesday and Guiseley will look to do the same this time out as they attempt to cut the 5 point gap to the play offs. But playing against King’s Lynn, will never prove an easy task.

The Lions
Guiseley’s last away defeat came on the 19th of October 2019 away to Telford and a point or more would increase said record to nine league games or 11 in all competitions. Andrai Jones has scored in back to back games and could make it three in a row, Prince Ekpolo has impressed in recent weeks and Brad Wade will look to build on last week’s impressive clean sheet, a week where he was the only goalkeeper to do as such. Aaron Martin and Lee Shaw could return. Reiss McNally will be full of confidence following his listing by England C.

King’s Lynn
Adam Marriott and his goal scoring exploits have been the biggest talking point in the league this season, the tally currently stands at 28 goals. Michael Gash has played a role in padding out Kings Lynn’s impressive +25 goal difference by contributing 10 goals. The Linnets can’t afford to drop points here with York currently sitting two points above them, but with 3 games in hand, the home side could sit top and have a tidy cushion by tea time on Saturday.

In Comparison:
Guiseley league position: 10th
Kings Lynn league position: 2nd

Guiseley top goal scorer: Aaron Martin (17)
Kings Lynn top goal scorer: Adam Marriott (28)

Guiseley last 5: WDLWD
Kings Lynn last 5: LWDLL

Come on Guiseley!
