We are delighted to announce the signing of striker Oli Johnson, and that defender Ben Parker has committed his immediate future to the club with a new contract.
Former Stockport, Norwich and Yeovil striker Johnson signs after impressing manager Mark Bower in training and is considered an exciting signing by the management team. It is the first time the 26 year-old has played outside of the Football League since he turned professional with the Hatters in 2008. He can also play as a midfielder and so will give the squad further attacking options as we face a congested fixture list in the hunt for a place in the top five.
Former Leeds United defender Parker has until now been part of the Lions squad on a non-contract basis, and has today agreed a contract having made 13 impressive first team appearances since joining the club.
In further good news, Mark Bower has told the Wharfedale Observer that fan favourite Danny Ellis may be ready to be part of the matchday squad for Saturday’s home game against Stockport County following his lengthy spell out with a knee injury.
