Goals late in each half from Oliver Norburn and Anthony Dudley earned the Lions a deserved and much-needed 2-0 win over Bromley at Nethermoor on Saturday.
Following a tricky run of fixtures, the Lions began well against the Conference South champions but were made to wait for the opener.
Norburn produced a stunning strike from distance on the stroke of half-time at a blustery Nethermoor with the game remaining finely poised after the break.
Where Mark Bower’s side have often let sides off the hook this season, the hosts made certain of the points late on when Dudley registered his fourth goal for the club following a quick break, having had his loan spell extended in midweek.
The Lions face FC Halifax Town at The Shay next week in the Vanarama National League.
