One of Guiseley’s newest acquisitions Nicky Boshell is delighted to be back at Nethermoor and feels he his approaching his best form following Saturday’s 1-0 win over Worcester City.
Boshell made his third appearance since re-joining the club from Bradford Park Avenue at the weekend, replacing goalscorer Danny Forrest before helping the Lions maintain their 100 per cent start to the season.
The 27-year-old, who scored 11 goals in 19 games during his first spell at Nethermoor, feels he is gradually getting back to that sort of form as he targets a starting spot.
“It’s been a while since I last played here for Guiseley and I am really pleased to be back,” he told Tom Feaheny.
“The move was on the cards for a while and I am glad to be playing for Guiseley again, it’s always a good atmosphere in the dressing room here and plenty of banter with my brother Danny.
“I’m a couple of weeks behind a lot of the lads training-wise but getting on against Worcester and getting some game time over the next few weeks will hopefully help me push for a starting place soon.”
Mark Bower’s side were made to work hard by Worcester on Saturday but ground out a narrow 1-0 victory to keep them top of the Vanarama Conference North after three games.
Ahead of Saturday’s trip to AFC Fylde, Boshell believes belief is high in the camp.
“It was not the usual performance by us, it was a battling performance and sometimes you have to grind the results out and that is what we did,” he added.
“The lads are buzzing and we are starting to feel like we can go on a good run and win a lot of matches.
“Fylde are a good team, I know some of the players who are there and they will be a good opponent for us.”
