Having missed out on promotion for the last three seasons and having dispensed with the services of several established players a youthful looking Guiseley team was given a lesson in organisation and commitment as Solihull Moors romped home scoring three goals without reply.
The writing was on the wall as early as the fourth minute when left back Jordan Gough skipped past three home defenders before lashing a powerful drive past Steve Drench for the opener. Rhys Meynell then set up the Lions best chance of the game when his ball over the top found Adam Priestley who rounded the Moors keeper only to see his shot cleared off the line by Gough.
The visitors doubled their lead on the stroke of halftime when an uncharacteristic mistake by Drench in losing the ball to Omar Bogle left the striker with the easy task of stroking the ball into the unguarded net from an acute angle.
Steve Kittrick replaced ineffective midfielder Jake Scott with striker James Burgess on the restart, to little effect though as the home midfield was once again stifled and Bogle sealed the game with his second on 54 minutes from the penalty spot after Jameel Ible was adjudged to have tripped him in the area.
