Ryan Toulson maintains the Lions will not get carried away by Tuesday’s impressive 3-1 victory over AFC Fylde as they prepare to host Hednesford Town on Saturday.
The win moved the Lions up to fourth in the table and reinvigorated Guiseley’s promotion push, with Mark Bower’s side eager to make another step towards securing a play-off berth when Hednesford visit Nethermoor this weekend.
The teams fought out a 1-1 draw earlier this season at Keys Park earlier in the season and Toulson urged his team-mates to build on their midweek home win in Saturday’s reverse fixture.
“We’re not going to shout about it, we have to go about our own business,” the full-back explained of Tuesday’s win.
“We’re not going to worry about anybody else, all we need to do is think about our game and keep those homes wins coming. Also, we need to make sure we perform away from home.
“We go again on Saturday and make sure we get another three points.”
Toulson also praised the impact of recent signing Liam Dickinson – after the striker made an impact on his debut against Fylde alongside fellow forward Adam Boyes.
“He’s come in and made a difference,” Toulson added.
“He gives you a different option up there, he’s held it up, played off Boyesy, got some flick-ons and worked hard – that’s what we needed.
“We needed somebody up there to help Boyesy, we needed that extra difference and he made that difference on Tuesday.”
