The Lions will welcome Skrill North leaders North Ferriby United to Nethermoor on Saturday in what is a highly-anticipated fixture.
With Guiseley looking to continue their fine form after Tuesday night’s 3-1 victory over Stalybridge Celtic, Mark Bower’s side are going for a fifth consecutive home win.
The Lions are now unbeaten in seven games, winning five and drawing twice, picking up 17 points from a possible 21.
Billy Heath’s table-toppers are in equally hot form however, with the East Yorkshire side holding a one point gap over the chasing pack having won five of their last six fixtures.
Ferriby have lost just four times on the road this season having won 10 and drawing twice but they will be looking to avenge the defeat earlier this season when Guiseley picked up a 3-2 result away from home – their first victory of the Mark Bower era.
In advance of the reverse fixture, Mark warned his side not to get complacent and called for a better start than that against Stalybridge on Tuesday.
“If we play like we did in the first-half (on Tuesday) against North Ferriby, we will be coming in more than one down at half-time that’s for sure,” he said.
“People will be thinking ‘Ferriby are top of the league, they’ll come in as favourites’. But if we go about it in the same way that we did up at their place and the way we applied ourselves in the second-half (on Tuesday) then we can do it. If we can get another win again then maybe it can be a significant win in our season.
Gavin Rothery, who found the net in the win at Ferriby in October, added: “We’re very confident now. Obviously, we have put a bit of a run together and I think we’re unbeaten in seven, so we are very confident going in to Saturday’s game.
“(The win over Stalybridge) keeps the run going. It’s a big three points.”
Don’t forget, we’re offering half-price admission to season ticket holders of Premier League and Football League clubs for the remainder of the season.
