We can confirm that Marcus Dewhurst has been recalled from his loan spell at Nethermoor by Sheffield United.
The goalkeeper has made 21 appearances since his return to Nethermoor in September and is highly rated by his parent club and The Lions’ Management Team.
Fans favourite Dewhurst has kept six clean sheets and played a vital role in our charge up the table.
Marcus was called up to the England U19’s squad during his time in LS20 for their European Championship qualifying fixtures in Macedonia.
He has now been loaned out to League 2 side Carlisle United and their Head Coach Chris Beech said: “It will be good for him to be around a professional first-team environment and to be pushing for a place in the squad every week. He’s played a lot of games at non league level already, so this is the natural next step for him.”
“I’ve spoken to the FA staff as well as players who have played with him at international level and he is a very highly thought of young goalkeeper.”
We would like to thank Marcus for his efforts over the past few months and wish him the best of luck at Carlisle United and with his future footballing career.
