We are delighted to announce the signing of Luke Jackson on loan from Sheffield Wednesday.
We have continued to dip into the Football League for a goalkeeper having had Sheffield United’s Marcus Dewhurst and Rochdale’s Brad Wade in recent seasons as well as Jordan Amissah from The Blades this campaign. Now we have signed Sheffield Wednesday’s Luke Jackson on loan until 16th October writes Rachel O’Connor.
Jackson, 19, figured in Guiseley’s pre-season games against Halifax and Stockport County, having recently signed a new contract with The Owls. He shared goalkeeping responsibilities in pre-season games with Guiseley Academy products Declan Lambton and Hagie Damba.
Jackson joined the Hillsborough club in 2018 from Huddersfield Town and has been a regular in their Under-23 side after progressing through the Under-18s. He had some first team involvement last season with a place on the bench.
Luke is eligible for Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup second round qualifying tie at Colne.
We’d like to thank Flatcap Creative for their sponsorship of Luke Jackson’s home kit, you can still sponsor his away and training kits – find out how here.
Meanwhile we can confirm that goalkeeper Jordan Amissah has returned to his parent club Sheffield United following the expiry of his loan. We’d like to thank Jordan for all of his efforts and wish him the best of luck for his future career.
