Adam Lockwood takes charge of the Lions for the first time on Saturday as Bromley visit Nethermoor with kick-off at 3pm.

The defender is in interim charge of the club following the departure of Mark Bower and assistant Danny Boshell.

The visitors last run out saw victory as they hosted Gateshead, however three defeats and a draw make up their first five results.

The Lions are still looking for their first points of the season following two goals from the hosts in the final ten minutes at Solihull on Saturday.

Lockwood is looking forward to his new role “I like challenges that get put in front of me, I am looking to help the club out.”

“I will be doing my upmost to hopefully make an impact, we have a dressing room full of talent.”

“Hopefully the results do turnaround and we get something we want, a little bit of success and some points on the board.”

“I will be putting in place as much as I possibly can to support the lads and get the results.”

“It makes people’s weekends better if you enjoy collecting points and that is what we want to start doing. Hopefully we can get the season going.”

Chairman, Phil Rogerson, is hoping Lockwood can stake his claim for the job “It would be nice to think that we had got ourselves into a winning run and that Locky became a real prospect.”

“He has been promised that he will be considered and he is certainly interested.”

“At this stage, Adam has a chance to get his feet under the table and hopefully get some wins.”

“He has been at least an assistant manager at Oldham, so he certainly has the right background and am sure he will command respect from the squad.”

Phil Rogerson quotes from the Wharfedale Observer.
