Braintree Town visit Nethermoor on Saturday with interim manager Adam Lockwood looking for the first points of the season.
It’s Non League Day on Saturday, why not celebrate with us and take advantage of our special offers, “Friend for Free” and “Any Sport, Any Club.”
The Lions go into the match having lost both of the bank holiday weekend fixtures against Bromley and Tranmere Rovers
However Lockwood was encouraged by the display on Monday “It was a good team performance as well as some good individual performances.”
“It’s been a challenge, some tough games, we have set the standard now and they have to be hit week in week out.”
“The more times we do that the more progress we will get as a club, it won’t be short term success if we build that culture it will be long term success”
“Hopefully I will be a part of that in whatever capacity, I enjoy it, good people, good club, they will want to go places, it is great to be part of it”
The visitors also come into the game having also lost both of their bank holiday weekend fixtures which leaves them sitting three places above the Lions in the Vanarama National League table.
Lockwood will not be changing his methods of preparation ahead of Saturday’s fixture “I will do nothing different to what I have done, I will prepare the guys.”
“It will be a different beast coming against us.”
“We will look at their strengths as we have done.”
Luke Porritt played his first minutes of the season on Saturday and the interim manager was pleased with his performance “He’s then gone to the league leaders, live on television with a bit of pressure, and done himself proud again.”
“For me, he can only get better as a player. Hopefully we can develop him and make him into a top, top player.”
Luke Porritt was delighted to be selected “I am always enjoying it when I am on the pitch, Locky has put his belief in me and it is a huge confidence boost.”
“To play at Tranmere with the crowd, it was brilliant.”
“The fans are brilliant, they have always stood by all the players, its lovely coming through the academy and stepping up to first team.”
“Having the belief of all the players and managers is brilliant.”
“I’m always confident, I am just going to keep going.”
“Locky is doing some brilliant stuff in training and in the dressing room.”
“We haven’t had a brilliant start but we are starting to get a good structure and work the ball much better.”
