We are delighted to announce two new signings – experienced football league defender Adam Lockwood and FC Halifax Town striker Alex Johnson.
Having played over 300 matches for League clubs, thirty-one year-old central defender Lockwood takes his first steps into the Football Conference after spending the majority of his career at Yeovil Town and Doncaster Rovers. He was most recently at League Two club Bury, where he made 20 appearances last season.
Johnson has shown great promise while on a short-term loan from Halifax, having first caught the club’s eye while scoring for the Shaymen at Nethermoor in last season’s play-offs.
Both players met with manager Mark Bower and CEO Adie Towers this evening to finalise their signings and joined the squad afterwards for training. Lockwood will be available for selection on Saturday. As Johnson’s one-month loan had already expired, he will be available to play against Histon if transfer paperwork can be completed in time for clearance to be received from the Conference.
We would like to welcome Adam and Alex to the club!
