Phil Parkinson’s Bolton are set to bring a strong side to Nethermoor and could include new signings Erhun Oztumer, Jason Lowe, Clayton Donaldson and Yanic Wildschut.
Following the first defeat of pre-season to Gateshead on Saturday Tom Feaheny caught up with Assistant Manager Paul Clayton “The lads put a good shift in and a lot of them got 90 minutes which is what we are working to.”
Clayton lined up along side Rowan Liburd and Reece Thompson in attack “It was nice to see Rowan get the goal but a shame we didn’t win because we had built a bit of momentum over the last few weeks. For the vast majority of the game I thought we were the better side.”
Talking about Saturday’s opponents the former Alfreton striker said “Gateshead are a good side, we will grow back from it, the lads have got 90 minutes under their belt and we were looking strong at the end.”
Looking ahead to the midweek fixtures Clayton is looking for the players to continue with the hard work “It will be the same again, we want to do the things we have learnt in training, we want to implement it in those games, they will be tough tests with a few tired legs. The lads will be doing 45-60 minutes in each game.”
