Third-place Brackley extended their unbeaten run to six games with a comfortable win over the hosts, having gone in at the break two goals to the good.
Town absorbed all that the home side could throw at them in the second period as they looked to break on the counter-attack as the Lions pushed forward in trying to reduce the deficit.
After a quiet opening, Town took the lead on thirteen minutes when Eddie Nisevic got the better of Rhys Meynell on the byline and played the ball across the six-yard box where Izak Ried was on hand to sweep it home. Twenty minutes later the unmarked Nisevic powered home a header from a corner at the far post to double the visitors advantage.
In between times Guiseley’s Adam Priestley brought a good save from Billy Turley and Danny Ellis put his header into the side netting from the resulting corner. Apart from Phil Marsh’s glancing header shortly afterwards the Lions never looked like reducing the deficit.
They did improve in the second half with Marsh, Priestley and Mark Bower going close but Nisevic should have sealed the victory midway through the half but fluffed his lines and Brackley had Turley to thank for keeping a clean sheet as he denied Gavin Rothery with two fine saves.
