Lions To Travel To Horsfall Next Month

We will travel to Bradford (Park Avenue’s) Horsfall Stadium next month for a pre-season friendly.

The Lions will make the trip to Bradford on Monday 21st July for a 7:30pm kick-off at the Northern Premier League East Division side’s home.

Entry to the friendly will be free for all supporters.

The game will see Mark Bower and Danny Boshell return to their former employers with former Lions player and manager Danny Ellis in the oppiosition dugout in his new player/assistant manager role.

It is the first time the two sides have met since a 1-0 Lions win on New Year’s Day in 2023 after BPA suffered back-to-back relegations from the National League North.

Will Longbottom and Lucas Odunston, who both made the switch to Nethermoor on free transfer deals from Avenue, will come up against their former side for the first time. Jamie Spencer is also in line to face his former employers after his second spell at the Horsfall was ended with an ACL injury.

The hosts also have a number of former Lions in their side with Prince Ekpolo, Jameel Ible, Josh Ashman and Kareem Hassan-Smith signed or retained by their boss Craig Elliott.

More details on further friendlies will be announced in due course.
