The Lions registered their second pre-season win over a Huddersfield team playing their first competitive game since winning the Play-Off Final at Wembley. Although Guiseley can be pleased with the victory, Town will not read too much into the result as they fielded a different team in each half to give all their squad a run out.
The decisive moment came midway through the first half when Danny Forrest rifled a shot across Alex Smithies into the far corner from ten yards, while moments before, the visiting keeper had palmed away James Walshaw’s diving header from a Jamie Clarke cross.
