Lions Stage Late Comeback To Peg Back County

Guiseley staged a late comeback to claim a draw in their penultimate home pre-season friendly against last seasons National North Champions Stockport County at Nethermoor as goals from from Scott Garner and Gabriel Johnson secured a 2-2 draw.

In a fairly even game of few chances the Hatters took the lead on 49 minutes when the Lions Trialist goalkeeper had a rush of blood to the head leaving ex-Guiseley striker Frank Mulhern to stroke the ball into the unguarded net.

County doubled their lead on 71 minutes as Jake Kirby got the better of Scott Garner to score from an acute angle but the Lions captain made amends five minutes later as he headed home a corner at the far post to halve the deficit.
