The Lions continued their pre-season preparations at Nethermoor on Tuesday evening with a comfortable 3- 0 victory over Vanarama National League North side Darlington writes Simon Bullock.
The opening goal came on 15 minutes, when Tommy Taylor spilled a Donald Chimalilo shot and Jake Cassidy was on hand to fire home the loose ball from close range.
Danny Ellis’ side continued to grow into the game and doubled their advantage just past the hour mark, with Cassidy netting his second of the game and fourth of pre-season after getting on the end of a low cross from John Johnston.
The third Lions’ goal came 10 minutes from time, when Nathaniel Crofts pounced a loose pass from the Quakers’ defence before picking out Johnston, whose powerful strike flew past Taylor into the top left corner.
There were a flurry of changes late on in the game as the contest was effectively over, and Guiseley deservedly ran out 3-0 victors over their opponents a division higher.
