We are delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Michael Roxburgh who knows Ian Richards well from their time at Stocksbridge.

The 23 year-old ‘keeper signed for Richards in South Yorkshire last season and but ended the campaign at Emley following former Lion Declan Lambton’s move to Matlock.

Michael has had a varied career having spent time in academies with professional clubs Sunderland, Hartlepool and Huddersfield Town.

Whilst with the Terriers the shot stopper enjoyed time out on loan with Brighouse Town, Marske United, AFC Fylde and Liversedge.

Roxburgh was a familiar face when he signed for Stocksbridge last summer, he had already had a spell with them as a youngster and upon his release by Huddersfield.

He caught the attention of Spennymoor Town and played the 2023/24 campaign for the Moors before moving to Emley at the beginning of the 2024/25 season.

Michael opted to join Sheffield FC in December 2024 and finished the campaign with the world’s oldest football club.
