Lions return to West Riding County Cup action

Selby Town travel to Nethermoor on Tuesday night in the third round of the West Riding County Cup.

The Northern Counties East Division 1 side currently sit in 11th place in the table following a 4-1 defeat at Pontefract Collieries on Saturday.

Admission has again been reduced to £5 for adults, £3 for concessions and £2 for U16s. U12s are, as always, FREE with a paying adult.

Season tickets are not valid for this fixture.

Manager Adam Lockwood was pleased with the performance and reaction in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Chester “The one thing I asked for was a reaction from Tuesday, we got the same result but two totally different performances.”

“I asked for the reaction and I got that” said the centre back who may be in the squad for Tuesday’s fixture.

“Marcus Williams came into the game early on and it is difficult to do that.”

“He was one of the catalysts to keep that momentum going, which is great.”

“I can only say well done to everybody involved today.”

Rob Atkinson was withdrawn early following injury in the match against Chester “It is not always good when you see twists, it is too early to we have to assess it and see where we go.”

“Anybody who comes out of the squad is a big loss, it becomes an opportunity for somebody else.”
