Guiseley were given a lesson in finishing at Nethermoor on Saturday as Aldershot ran out 4-0 winners in the Vanarama National League.
The Lions started relatively promisingly but were behind when the dangerous Richard Brodie opened the scoring 20 minutes in following confusion in the hosts’ defence.
Aldershot built on that momentum when Steven Drench parried Rhys Browne’s effort, only for Jim Stevenson to convert the follow-up and give the visitors a two-goal lead at the break.
That became 3-0 after the interval when Cheye Alexander jinked through the Lions’ backline and beat Drench with Brodie rounding off the scoring as the Lions were punished for their lack of cutting edge.
Next up for Mark Bower’s side is the visit of Gateshead on Saturday.
