After last week’s FA Trophy exit to Chorley, Guiseley turn their attention back to the Vanarama Conference North on Saturday as they welcome Leamington to Nethermoor.
The Lions will be looking to put last week’s defeat behind them and continue their fine league form, in which they have won five games from their previous six, the last victory being the very impressive 3-0 victory away at Stockport County.
However, Mark Bower will be without some regular first team players for the visit of the Brakes with defender Ryan Toulson out of action with a knee injury and fellow defender Shane Killiock suspended for the game.
Bower is confident in his team’s ability to bounce back from last weekend’s disappointment and showcase the form that sees them sit third in the table.
“We’ve been on a really good run and have been playing very well,” said Bower.
“You’re going to have spells where you don’t play so well but we have to keep everything in context, the lads have been putting in good performances and have been working hard.”
Saturday’s meeting will be the second of the season between the two sides, having first faced off on the opening day of the season as a late Danny Forrest strike settled the match.
Since then Leamington have had a tricky season and currently sit 18th in the league table, one point above the bottom three.
Their recent league form has been shaky, winning one of their last five games and losing the previous two with striker Stefan Moore having joined up with Solihull Moors in midweek.
Remember, the club are holding the second and final food bank collection for Otley Food Bank at Nethermoor on Saturday so please help out if you can.
