Lions looking to bounce back from Trophy disappointment

Guiseley return to league action this week as they welcome Eastwood Town to Nethermoor on Saturday.
The Lions will be looking to bounce back after the bitter disappointment of being knocked out of the FA Trophy on Tuesday night at Cambridge.

The sides have met twice already this season, with Coronation Park hosting a 2-2 draw between the sides in November before Guiseley hosted the Badgers a fortnight later, emerging 7-0 victors in the FA Trophy.
The hosts go into the match on Saturday sitting in fourth position in the league, a solitary point behind FC Halifax in third and Nuneaton in second, with three games in hand over both teams.
By contrast, John Ramshaw brings his team to West Yorkshire lying uncomfortably in 21st position, having endured a difficult season so far. However, they are undefeated in their last three outings, having beaten Sutton Town and drawn with FC Halifax and Solihull Moors in recent weeks.
Guiseley’s loss to Blue Square Bet Premier side Cambridge United in midweek was their first in seven outings, and boss Kittrick will be hoping to return to winning ways and maintain the promotion push that has gathered momentum as the season has continued.
He welcomes back to his squad James Walshaw, cup-tied for the journey to Cambridge, who rejoins an already-impressive strike force of Ellington, Senior, Forrest and O’Neill.
Also impressive this season has been Guiseley’s defensive record: they have conceded only 13 goals at Fortress Nethermoor all season. Lions fans will be hoping that Drench, Ainge, Merris, Ellis, Clarke and Co can maintain that record against an Eastwood side desperate for the points.
Kick off is at 3 pm. As usual, if you cannot make it to the game, you can follow the action on our official Facebook and Twitter pages and can see highlights of the game on our YouTube channel in the week.
