Lions look to Gloucester

Guiseley will look to bounce back from Monday’s defeat to Gainsborough Trinity when Gloucester City visit Nethermoor on Saturday.

The Lions lost their unbeaten record for the season and conceded their first goals of the campaign in a 3-1 defeat on bank Holiday Monday, slipping to third place in the Vanarama Conference North – three points off leaders North Ferriby.

Like ourselves, Gloucester have lost just once in the league this term – a 2-1 reversal against Tamworth – with the remainder of their four games all resulting in draws.

Winger Wayne Brooksby is eager to get back to winning ways on Saturday, telling Tom Feaheny: “It was bitterly disappointing to lose to Gainsborough.

“I thought we played OK but our passing needed to be more varied and it was frustrating that we didn’t score any more goals with the chances we had.

“There are positives from the run though. Obviously we would have liked to have continued it on Monday but it’s a long season and we will be back picking points up soon, hopefully starting with Gloucester on Saturday.

“We will put it right and we’re looking ahead to Saturday now.”

Remember, we have a free family ticket on offer for Saturday’s game.
