Lions Local Heroes – Matt And Sam Chapman

Many workers have had their jobs changed and two examples of this is Matt and Sam Chapman who have both become key workers during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Twin brothers Matt and Sam Chapman have supported the club for many years with their dad Dave and both have seen their day jobs change because of Covid-19.

Sam works for Shipley based engineering company Produmax, they specialise in high precision engineering working with aerospace companies to manufacture high quality machine components and assemblies.

After an appeal from the government for companies to help build ventilators Produmax were in the perfect place to help.

They stepped up to the mark and started producing parts for the medical equipment which have proven vital to save lives during the pandemic and pictured below is Sam on the manufacturing line.

Matt is on a corporate degree apprenticeship at Morrisons Head Office in Bradford but the pandemic meant they urgently needed additional staff on the shop floor in their near 500 stores.

Matt saw his office based role changed to working on the shop floor in the local Yeadon store supporting the customers when supermarkets were at their busiest.

Morrisons have been supporting the local community with donations of food to other key workers and community centres.

We’d like to thank Matt and Sam for their continued hard work, two Lions Local Heroes who are making a difference during these unprecedented times.

We all know someone who at this moment of time is quietly going about their business, but what they are doing is fantastic. So let’s share their good deeds with each other and give someone a virtual pat on the back from everyone linked with Guiseley AFC.

You can send your nominations in through via Facebook and Twitter or by email to trudi.miller@guiseleyafc.co.uk, just tell us why they are your local hero and send us a photo.
