Lions Local Heroes: Derrick Stephens

We are delighted to add another loyal supporter to our Lions Local Heroes list in Derrick Stephens who has worked throughout lockdown for Morrisons in their Wakefield distribution centre.

Derrick who is a Warehouse Operative at Morrisons’ distribution centre just off junction 41 of the M1 continued to work throughout lockdown ensuring the 194 stores that the centre supplies had stock levels to meet the increase in demand.

As well as his role at Morrisons Derrick has supported his partner, Sue, who was shielding at home by shopping for them both and Sue’s parents. Not forgetting ensuring their medication was up to date too as well as just making sure everyone was ok.

Derrick has been an extremely busy man during this period and we would like to thank Sue for the nomination to make him a Lions Local Hero.

We look forward to welcoming Derrick back to Nethermoor soon!

We all know someone who at this moment of time is quietly going about their business, but what they are doing is fantastic. So let’s share their good deeds with each other and give someone a virtual pat on the back from everyone linked with Guiseley AFC.

You can send your nominations in through via Facebook and Twitter or by email to trudi.miller@guiseleyafc.co.uk, just tell us why they are your local hero and send us a photo.
