Lions given a good workout

Leeds United proved worthy opponents for the Lions first pre-season outing as the Championship side registering a 5-1 win at a packed and sun bathed Nethermoor.

Irish international winger Stuart Dallas bagged a first half brace before Lee Erwin extended the visitors lead.

Dallas opened the scoring after just seventeen second as his delightful lob looped over Jonny Maxted into the far corner.

Leeds extended their lead when Luke Ayling did well to break into the box before putting in a low cross, which eventually fell to Dallas and he found the top right corner for a second time on 37 minutes.

A Trialist halved the deficit with a shot into the top corner two minutes later but Marcus Antonsson was left with a simple finish after some good work by Pablo Hernandez down the right.

Both teams made wholesale changes at halftime and Marco Silvestri had to be alert to deny Joe Green on the restart.

The faintest of touches from by Lee Erwin extended the Whites lead and Souleymane Doukara brought a good stop from debutant keeper Joe Green who could only parry for  Erwin to tap home the rebound.
