Lions frustrated by Lincoln again

Guiseley lost 1-0 to Lincoln City for the second time this season as Chris Bush’s first-half header earned the hosts the points at Sincil Bank.

The Lions arrived in Lincolnshire unbeaten in 2016 and off the back of an important 1-0 win at Kidderminster but Mark Bower’s men were on the back foot for much of the first half.

Amid a series of corners, Bush headed the home side in front before the break and the Lions were perhaps fortunate to only be a goal behind at the break.

But Guiseley threw everything at Lincoln in the second half as Adam Boyes went close to an equaliser before the striker had the ball in the net only to be denied by the offside flag.

The Lions ultimately came up short and will seek to bounce back when they make another away trip to Dover Athletic in the FA Trophy on Saturday.
