Guiseley wrapped up a rollercoaster season with a 2-1 win at Kidderminster Harriers this afternoon to seal nineteenth position in the table with a total of 44 points, nine ahead of relegated Ashton United.
The Lions took the lead just before halftime as Andy Halls stroked home a penalty after George Cantrill had been fouled just inside the area.
Jack Dyche doubled their advantage on 68 minutes courtesy of Harriers keeper Sam Austin fumbling his shot as it bounced over the line.
Marcus Dewhurst had pulled off several crucial saves to maintain the Lions lead but was finally beaten by Joe Ironside’s spot kick twelve minutes from time. But it proved to be too little too late from the home side as the visitors held out for their second successive victory in the league for the first time since September.
