Aldershot Town are Saturday’s visitors to Nethermoor as Adam Lockwood’s men look for a third win on the spin for the first time in the National League.

The Shots are on an impressive run in the league with no defeats since 17th December including draws with Lincoln City, Eastleigh, Barrow, York and Gateshead with wins over Bromley, Wrexham, Maidstone, Southport and the league double against Woking.

The Lions were victorious at home to Barrow last Tuesday and then at Torquay on Saturday following a defeat to North Ferriby last week.

Saturday’s win came after we were down to 10 men and a goal behind but strikes from Jake Cassidy and Will Hatfield swung the tie in our favour.

Adam Lockwood was honest about his sides performance when asked post match “First half I thought we were poor, we were never where the ball dropped but we made up for it in excellent game management.”

“That performance in the second half wasn’t for the purists but we’ve had two difficult games this week. The heart and endeavour will give us a good chance of achieving our goal.”

The boss also spoke about Jake Lawlor’s red card meaning he will miss Saturday’s match against Aldershot and the trip to Boreham Wood next week.

“This year we have lost too many players to suspensions, it is something that we need to look at.”

Captain Danny Lowe will also be suspended for the next two matches following his dismissal against North Ferriby.

However Adam feels it was a big three points “It’s a massive, massive win for us.”

“We have got a lot of hard work still to do.”

Lockwood was delighted with the travelling supporters and the club on Saturday “You look at how many came, it is brilliant. We are a very small club with great people pulling in the right direction.”

“The fans must have seen a squad of people who they are very proud of as I am.”

“As a club we should be extremely proud of everybody connected.”
