Matt Wilson grabbed a late equaliser to add to Chris Senior’s brace as the Lions came from 3-1 down to take a share of the points at York Street in this afternoon’s final BSN League game.
As expected, the Lions rested several key players prior to Wednesday’s Play-Off Semi-Final First Leg, where they travel to Nuneaton as a result of today’s scores, with FC Halifax Town facing Gainsborough Trinity in the other semi.
After Joe O’Neill had hit the bar early on, Spencer Weir-Daley put the home side ahead on 15 minutes and Marc Newsham doubled the Pilgrims lead three minutes before the break. Senior halved the deficit on 54 minutes only for James Reed to seemingly wrap up the points, but Wilson’s late piledriver, following on from Senior’s second, ensured that the spoils would be shared.
Guiseley: Giles; Clarke, Merris; Wilson, Lisles, Bower (Ellis, 64); Baldry, Holdsworth, O’Neill (Forrest, 64), Price (Ellington, 72), Senior. Unused Subs: Halvorsen, Drench.
