Connor Jennings’ strike late into injury time denied the Lions a second victory on the road after they had taken an early lead and then fought back from 2-1 down against Wrexham.
Gavin Rothery opened the scoring after just three minutes when he cut in from the right to beat Cameron Belford at his near post with a sweet shot into the corner.
Dominic Vose signaled his intentions in bringing a good save from Steve Drench before he squared matters on 23 minutes with a shot from the edge of the area that went in off the post.
Adam Smith brought another fine stop from Drench but when Vose robbed a hesitant Ryan Toulson on 35 minutes and shoot beyond Drench it was the home side wh0 went in with their tails up at the break.
Guiseley opened the second half on the offensive and only a timely tackle by Manny Smith denied an opening for George Marris but a double substitution on 55 minutes with Liam Dickinson and Jake Lawlor replacing Marris and Danny Boshell proved to be the catalyst that the visitors needed.
Dickinson’s first action was to fire a free kick against the bar but he went one better on 71 minutes, getting the final touch to Rothery’s free kick at the far post. This after Wayne Brooksby and Adam Boyes has spurned good openings but the latter responded on 81 minutes with a magnificent goal – Dickinson’s deft touch cutting out two defenders and setting Boyes free with only a home defender for company.
Holding off his opponent the former Gateshead striker hit a powerful rising shot from twenty yards out that Belford could only watch sail past him and into the top corner.
However, Rothery was then shown a straight red for a midfield challenge and the Lions were left hanging on until Lee Fowler made his way down the right and pulled the ball back across the six-yard box.
Jennings pounced on the rebound and slotted home the equaliser on 92 minutes.
