Guiseley were soundly beaten by a slick Macclesfield Town at Nethermoor on Tuesday night, Mark Bower’s side going down 3-0 on a wet evening.
Amid heavy rain throughout, the Lions went in at the break 2-0 down thanks to Paul Turnbull’s well-taken free-kick and a long-range Danny Whitehead strike on the stroke of half-time.
Danny Whitaker’s slid finish prior to the hour put the game to bed with substitute Liam Dickinson missing a penalty to compound a difficult night for the hosts.
Next up for Bower’s side is a trip to Vanarama National League leaders Forest Green Rovers.
