Goals from a Trialist and Will Hatfield gave Guiseley their first win of the new campaign although truth be told the visitors had by far the greater share of possession against opponents who ply their trade four levels below the Lions.
Hatfield hit the base of the post in the first minute with a shot that seemed to deceive the home keeper. However the Lions were ahead on the half hour as number 10 cut inside his marker to drill a shot into the bottom corner from 18 yards.
The second goal arrived early in the second half when Hatfield was upended in the area and then stepped up to convert the resulting spot kick.
Guiseley manager Adam Lockwood took the opportunity to give the rest of his squad game time immediately after the goal with Reece Thompson going the closest to extending the Lions lead when he took advantage of some hesitant defending but pulled his shot just wide.
