Lions beaten on pre-season opener

Guiseley fell to a 3-1 defeat against Championship side Huddersfield Town at Nethermoor on Saturday in their first friendly of pre-season.

Mark Bower was able to swap his side around throughout the friendly as they prepare for Tuesday’s home clash against Barnsley, with Chris Powell’s side displaying their clinical nature in front of goal.

Duane Holmes and Jacob Butterfield gave the visitors a two-goal advantage before Nicky Boshell pulled one back from the penalty spot before half-time.

Former Kidderminster Harriers man Joe Lolley sealed the win for Town in the 89th minute.
