Guiseley play at Nethermoor for the first time in 2014 on Saturday and will be hoping to maintain their promotion push against Stalybridge Celtic.
The Lions may not have played many games over the last month but Tuesday saw Mark Bower’s men defeat Solihull Moors 3-0 away from Nethermoor with Danny Hall, Jake Lawlor and Wayne Brooksby getting on the score sheet.
Though Guiseley remain tenth in the league, they have a number of games in hand on teams around them and a good run of results would bolster their aim to reach the Skrill North play-offs for a fourth straight season.
After Tuesday’s victory, Bower said his charges were eager for Saturday’s game, explaining: “We’re looking forward to Saturday, hopefully the clouds will stay away.
Bower also talked about the importance of the whole squad as the side get ready for a busy few weeks: “The eleven that started (on Tuesday) probably won’t be the eleven that start on Saturday and the game next Tuesday.”
There will be plenty of familiar faces on either side with Andy McWilliams and Paul Ennis plying their trade at Bower Fold while Rhys Meynell, Craig Hobson and Jack Rea have all played for Celtic in the past, although the latter is unlikely to feature due to a knee injury.
If Celtic fail to win on Saturday it would extend their winless run in the league to 10 matches while the Lions have not lost in the Skrill North since October.
Saturday’s match sponsors are Viamaster.
