Lions Add Four On Deadline Day

We are delighted to announce four new additions to the squad on the final day of new player registrations during the 2022/23 season.

Paul Phillips has added Harrison Nejman, Adam Richardson, Ethan Kachosa and Morgan Bacon to his squad.

Harrison has joined the club on loan from Barnsley and is a technical midfielder who joined the Tykes back in 2017.

He signed a first-year scholar deal in July 2020 after impressing in their younger age groups.

Nejman captained Barnsley’s U18s side who reached the Professional Development League playoffs during the 2021/22 campaign, he was then rewarded with a contract at the end of that season.

Joining on loan from Sunderland is goalkeeper Adam Richardson and defender Ethan Kachosa.

Adam has come through the ranks at Sunderland having been with them since he was eight years old and has featured for their U18 and U21 sides in recent years.

He signed a professional deal in 2020 and was a part of the first team’s pre-season tour of Portugal in the summer.

The 19 year-old has also represented England at youth level and has been included in a few Papa John’s Trophy squads this season.

Ethan is a pacey and diminutive player, versatile and can play full-back or on either wing and he has played in the Black Cats’ Premier League 2 side with former Lions defender Nathan Newall.

The 20 year-old joined the Championship’s U21 set up from Leeds United two years ago and made his senior debut against Manchester United in the Papa John’s Trophy in October 2021.

At Leeds United Ethan won the academy’s Player of the Season award at the end of the 18/19 campaign.

Kachosa was born in Leeds to a Zimbabwean family and attended Garforth Academy.

Finally also joining the club is Morgan Bacon who arrives on a dual registration deal with Buxton.

The 24 year-old goalkeeper has played for a number of clubs since leaving Carlisle United back in 2018.

Whilst with the Cumbrians Morgan had loan spells with Penrith, Shaw Lane and Kendal Town.

Since then the Bury born shot stopper has gone on to play for Stafford Rangers, Glossop North End, a second spell at Kendal Town and Wythenshawe Town.

Due to a lengthy injury picked up by Cam Mason in last Saturday’s fixture away at Warrington Rylands, we have moved to secure both Morgan and Adam to provide cover and competition for the number one shirt for the remainder of the season.

We wish Cam good luck on his recovery and look forward to seeing him fully fit for preseason training in the summer.

Phillips has added four new Lions to his squad following numerous injuries, suspensions and international call ups in recent weeks.
