Two goals from the in-form Rowan Liburd supplemented by a Kaine Felix finish saw Guiseley take all three points in their final away match of 2018 at crisis club Nuneaton Borough who despite replying through Dior Angus remain anchored to the foot of the table.
Boro were rocked back on their heels after just thirty four econds as Liburd continued his scoring run to net the opener.
The Lions forced two corners which came to naught before Scott Smith got on the end of Alex Purver cross only to see Belford save his effort.
Next it was the home sides turn to suffer as a long ball out of defence saw Dior Angus slot past Joe Green to square matters.
Liburd’s header nearly restored Guiseleys lead but Belford held the striker’s effort.
Shortly after the visitors suffered a blow as Cliffe Moyo left the field injured to be replaced by Louis Walsh.
The lively Liburd again went close but this time his lobbed shot landed on the roof of the net and Felix put in a teasing cross which Walsh blasted over the bar.
Three minutes after the restart the Lions were back in the lead as Liburd delivered an excellent finish on the turn to score his and Guiseley’s second of the game on 48 minutes.
Belford was again in action to deny Walsh and his team were then suffered a further setback as they were reduced to ten men as Nathaniel Kelly was dismissed for a late high challenge on Felix.
Felix then put the result beyond doubt as he beat two men before netting the Lions third on 64 minutes.
The home side did hit the bar late on and Green made a telling save to deny Boro any hopes of a comeback as the visitors held out for a deserved three points.
