Leeds Just Edge It As The Lions Go Close

Having put five past Guiseley’s divisional compatriots York City the previous evening Leeds United were given a far tougher test at a packed Nethermoor yesterday evening.

Kaine Felix put the home side ahead early on when he took a through ball, held off a defender and kept his composure to slot past Bailey Peacock-Farrell.

New strker Aaron Martin went close to opening his Guiseley account on two occassions in what proved to be a lively first half.

The visitors upped their game after the break and were rewarded a fine solo effort from Heldar Costa before Mateusz Bogusz fired home their second with ten minutes remaining.

Martin and Kennedy Digie went close to squaring matters in the closing stages but it was not to be as United held out for their second succesive pre-season win.

The Lions next home game is on Saturday when Scunthorpe United are the visitors to Nethermoor (ko 3pm).
